Betty Elizabeth Berryhill Newton

Betty Elizabeth Berryhill Newton, 84, of Morganton passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017.  Born in McDowell County, NC on March 31, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Berryhill and Hattie Davis Berryhill.  Betty attended El Bethel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Teresa Brown and husband, John, of Morganton, Brenda Morrow of Marion, Vickie Laws and husband, Doug, of Marion, and Doug Newton of Lenoir; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Berryhill and wife, Lois, of Morganton.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 pm, Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The graveside will follow at 4pm at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev. Keith Rose officiating.
