Betty Jo Abee Harris

Betty Jo Abee Harris, 71, of Dinah St. SW, Valdese, died Friday, December 10, 2010. Mrs. Harris was born September 23, 1939 in Avery County to the late Joe Clark and Ossie Webb Clark. She owned and operated an daycare in her home for many years.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Buford Lynn Abee and a daughter, Lisa Jo McCall; and a grandson, Robby Abee.Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband, James Arthur Harris; sons, Jerry Lynn Abee and wife, Lori of Havelock, NC and Keith Allen Abee and wife, Cheryl of Valdese; NC, a daughter, Hannah Abee Crouch and husband, Mike of Granite Falls, NC; brother, Lloyd Clark of Morganton; sisters, Janice Franks of Burnsville, NC, Evelyn Hollifield of Spruce Pine, NC and Mae Ard of Imperial, CA; and grandchildren; Lauren Miller, Shelby Miller, Barbara Abee, Casey and Fletcher Abee, Emma and Erin McCall and Jordan Settlemyre.A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December12, 2010 at the Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Ron Leasure officiating. Entombment to follow the service. The family will receive friend from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., prior to the service.
