Betty Jo DeHart, 80, of Morganton joined her loved ones in Heaven Sunday, January 24, 2016. Born May 24, 1935 in Graham County, NC to the late Joel P. Sawyer and Stella Crisp Sawyer. She was loved by many. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Ellis Charles DeHart.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Sharon Padgett and husband, David; sons, Joey DeHart and wife, Melinda and Allen DeHart and wife, Martha; and five grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Clark officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
