Betty Jo Houck Orders

Betty Jo Houck Orders, 84, of Glen Alpine, NC died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Carolina Rehab of Burke in Connelly Springs following a lengthy illness. Born in Burke County, NC on December 15, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Edward Jerome "Romey" Houck and Bertha Lee Fleming Houck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harry Orders; a brother, William Edward "Bud" Houck; four sisters, Lena Houck, Myrtle Houck Wilson, Mary Lee Houck Pollard, and Ruth Houck Lamkin. Mrs. Orders was a member of Glen Alpine First Baptist Church.Betty Jo is survived by her sons, Lee Orders and wife, Myra, of Newton, NC Charles A. Orders of Glen Alpine, NC; and two granddaughters, Amanda Orders of Decatur, GA and Ashley Orders of Newton, NC.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Glen Alpine with Rev. Michael Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Glen Alpine Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
