Betty Jo Lovelace, 80, of Connelly Springs, NC went to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, December 21, 2014. Born May 27, 1934 in Cleveland County, NC, Betty was a daughter of the late Colbert Blaine Godfrey and Callie Cleary Godfrey. She was a member of Bible Gospel Baptist Church, and had been a member of Beulah Baptist Church earlier in her life. She had worked at several area textile plants.
A loving mother and grandmother, Betty is survived by sons, Billy Dean Lovelace and wife, Mary of Connelly Springs, Michael Obadiah Lovelace and wife, Tonda of Hudson, NC, and Joe Junior Lovelace and wife, Cynthia of Granite Falls, NC; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on-the-way.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Sam “Duck” Jr. Lovelace; five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Eric James officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 24 at the Bible Gospel Baptist Church Cemetery.
