Betty Jo Pearson Flowers

Betty Jo Pearson Flowers, 75, of Marion, NC died Sunday, January 19, 2014. Born March 30, 1938 in Hendersonville, NC, she was a daughter of the late W.L. Pearson and Georgia Tinsley Pearson. Betty was a member of the New Manna Baptist Church of Marion.She is survived by sons, David Flowers and fiancée, Tammy Rose, of Nebo, NC; and Gregory Flowers of the home; daughters, Laquita Lewis and husband, Jerry of Burlington, NC, and Amy Parker and husband, Jerry, of Morganton; a step-daughter, Patricia Duckworth of Morganton; eleven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Gladys Pickelsimer of Newberry, SC, Christine Brown of Valdese, NC, Edith Taylor of Hendersonville, NC, and Wilma Black of Morganton.In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Pinkney Flowers; a step-son, Doyle Eugene Flowers; and siblings, Homer and Laverne Pearson, Nora Morgan and Venoi Dodson.Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Reverends Bruce Ward and Matt McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
