Betty Louise Cline Mathis

Betty Louise Cline Mathis, 88, of Morganton, NC passed away Saturday, July 06, 2019.  Born September 28, 1930 in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Wesley Cline and Cleo Elizabeth Bollinger Cline.

Mrs. Mathis was a member of North Morganton Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.  She loved sewing for family and friends, doing yard work, and her dogs.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Mathis; daughter, Sandra Elaine Curtis; and ten siblings.

Mrs. Mathis is survived by daughters, Terry Curtis (Robin) and Dawn Shelton (Johnny), son-in-law, Stony Curtis; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her canine companion, “Molly.”

The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 p.m., Monday, July 8 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 3 p.m., Monday in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Stony Curtis officiating.  Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
