Betty Louise Shuffler, 73, of the Piney area, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, May 1, 2021. She was born on July 29, 1947 in Bradley County, TN to the later Fairdy Burnice Smith and Barney Morefield Smith. Betty was a charter member of Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church. She worked as a CNA at Hartland Group Home. Betty never met a stranger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bobby Ray Shuffler; brothers Earl Smith and Jimmy Smith.
She is survived by her sons, Odell Shuffler (Belinda) and Brian Smith; daughter, Jeanette S. Brown (Darren); six grandchildren; brother, Fairdy B. Smith, Jr.; sister, Cindy Woody (Michael); and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm in the church with Revs. Wallace Smith, Mike Green and Margaret Stump officiating. Burial will follow at Abundant Life Tabernacle Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
