Betty Patton Towery

Betty Patton Towery, 77, of Morganton died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Grace Hospital. Born February 22, 1934 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Joe Dutch Patton and Della Rachel Baker Patton. She was also preceded in death by brothers, William Joe Patton, Carl Troy Patton, and James Patton; and sisters, Mabel Little and Jean Queen.Betty is survived by her husband of 39 years, Edward ?Bud? Towery of the home; sisters, Mary Reid of Charlotte, Judy Rhyne and husband, Jerry of Gastonia, and Margaret Foreman and husband, Mack of Morganton; and numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Denton?s Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, Memorial & Tribute Processing Center, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
