Betty Price White

Betty Price White, 81, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on May 11, 1932 in McDowell County to the late Alvin Lee Price and Edna Gallion Price. Betty and her husband, "Craty" owned and operated White’s Tax Service, a family business, which was started by "Craty’s" parents. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Morganton. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a grandson, Gavin Sewell; brother, Leonard Price; sister, Joann Suttles.Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Lamar "Craty" White; daughters, Leah White of Glen Alpine and Dawn Collett and husband, Robert of Morganton; grandchildren, Lee, Cray and Arlie Collett; brother, Reece Price of Morganton: sisters, Billie Crump and Pat Warren both of Morganton; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.A private family service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held this weekend. The family has requested that instead of flowers, donations be made to South Mountain Children’s Home, 7330 Myrtle Drive, Nebo, NC 28761 or to Burke Hospice & Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with arrangements.
