Betty Shuping Williams

Betty Shuping Williams, 88, of Morganton passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019.  Born in Burke County, NC on November 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late David Harrison Shuping and Celeste Hollar Shuping.  Betty was an active member of First Baptist Church in Valdese where she sang in the choir.  She worked as a nurse for Dr. Riggs for many years and later worked as a teaching assistant for Burke County Public Schools.

Mrs. William is survived by her daughter, Lori William Page of Southport, NC; grandchildren, Michelle Glauber of Wilmington, NC, Robert Page of Raleigh, NC, Stephen Page of Fuquay Varina, NC, and Kevin Page of Apex, NC; three great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew, Pam and Philip Clark.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Eugene Williams; brother, William David Shuping; and sisters, Virginia Webb, Gilda Hubbard, and Millie Dean Huffman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Josh Lail officiating.

In lieu of flower, memorial contribution may be made to Grace Ridge Endowment Fund.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
