Beverly "Bev" Ferris

Beverly "Bev" Ferris, 61, of Connelly Springs, NC, formerly of Roanoke, died unexpectedly Monday, May 25, 2009 at his residence. He was born October 10, 1947 in Goochland Co., Virginia and was the son of the late Charles Rufus Ferris and Ruby Mae Reams Ferris. He was a driver for Yellow Cab for 35 years in Roanoke, and was an avid pool player.Surviving are his wife, Melinda Harrison Ferris of the home; children, Angela Ferris, Richard Ferris and wife, Deeann, and Charles "Chuckie" Ferris and partner, Michelle, all of Roanoke; grandchildren, Brandon and Ashley Clark, Amanda, Brittany, and Catlyn, all of Roanoke; great-grandson, Little Jacob; a sister, Nancy F. Wardyn of N. Platte, NE; step-children, Tiffany Carroll and husband, Brian of Icard, and William Early of Hickory; step-grandchildren, Brent, Andy, Brianna, Wyatt, and Kylea Brook, all of Roanoke; a number of nieces and nephews; and his canine companions, Rufus, Savvy, and Bailee.In addition to his parents, Bev was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Gumb.A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, May 29, 2009 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at AmVets, 911 Tazewell Avenue, SE in Roanoke, VA.
