Billie Dean Callahan

Billie Dean Callahan, 82, of Morganton, NC passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Grace Hospital. Born in Chattanooga, TN on November 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Edna Dean Shelton.Billie is survived by her sons, Duayne Nester Callahan, Walter Robert Callahan and wife, Connie, and Pink Lester Callahan, Jr., all of Morganton; grandchildren, Terri, Duayne, Nicole, and Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Marky, Katie, Carlie, Sierra, Chloe, and Jordan; and a great-great-grandchild, Hailey; a sister, Jean Coachman; a sister-in-law, Bertie Shelton; and numerous nephews and nieces.In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Pink Lester Callahan, Sr., and three brothers, Walter, Robert Vance "R.V."., and Joe Shelton.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Paul Mace officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
