Billie Kaye Cline Witkus

Billie Kaye Cline Witkus, 66, of Settlemyre Road, Drexel, NC died Monday, August 10, 2009 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC following an extended period of declining health. Born in Burke County, NC on January 7, 1943, she was the daughter of William Edward "Bill" Cline and the late Ruby Louise Franklin Cline. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley D. Witkus. Billie was a member of First Church of God in Drexel.In addition to her father, she is survived by her daughter, Newana Kay Shuffler of Drexel; a sister, Renee Cline Perrou of Raleigh, NC; and a nephew and two nieces, all of Raleigh.The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2009 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Larry McCaw officiating. Burial will follow in the First Church of God Cemetery in Drexel. The family will receive friends at the funeral one hour prior to the service.
