Billie Sue Goodnight Duckworth

Billie Sue Goodnight Duckworth, 78 of Morganton, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior, on November 13, 2021. Born on November 4, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Dale and Annie Goodnight. Billie was a member of St. Matthews UMC. She was an RN at Grace Hospital in labor and delivery and worked at the Burke County Health Department where she retired from both.

Billie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Kenny Greg Duckworth; daughter, Donna Jean Duckworth; son, Kenneth Jerome Duckworth and wife, Tessa Houck; grandchildren, Joshua McLamb, Katelyn Duckworth, Lauren Beck, Luke Duckworth, Laccee Duckworth, Alaina Perlman; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn McLamb, Mason McLamb; brothers, Gary Goodnight; sister, Patricia Krewson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Billie is preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Goodnight; sister, Sondra Kay Hoyle.

The family will receive friends from 12:30pm until 2pm, Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Home Baptist Church.
