Billy J. Poston

Billy J. Poston, 82, of Morganton, NC died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Burke Palliative Care Center. Born in Huntington, WV on December 30, 1928, he was the son of the late Herman Poston and Odella Ingram Poston. Billy was raised in the Pentecostal Faith and worked in Florida as an auto mechanic. He loved woodworking and making crafts.Billy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia Lee Feeback Poston of the home; sons, Terry Poston and wife, Elaine, of Ripley, TN, Dennis Poston and wife, Sherry, of Ocla, FL, Robert Poston of Morganton, Herman Douglas Poston and wife, Gladys, of Morganton, and Jessie Poston and wife, Rebecca, of Morganton; a son-in-law, Randy Smith; a brother, Clifford Dale of Tampa, FL; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-six great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by daughters, Susan Poston and Sandra Smith; and brothers, Herman Poston, Jr. and Howard L. Poston.The graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until noon at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
