"Billy" Whisenant

“Billy” Whisenant, 69 of Morganton, NC passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018. He was born May 30, 1948 in Burke County, NC and was the son of the late Joe Isaac Whisenant and Annie Estelle Allman Whisenant. Billy loved the mountains and to garden. He also loved working on small engines. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Joe Ben Whisenant, Albert Whisenant, Robert Whisenant and Raymond Whisenant; and a sister, Janie Bell Owens.

Billy is survived by sons, Billy Whisenant, Chris Whisenant and wife, Jackie, and Michael Whisenant all of Morganton; grandchildren, Meagan Whisenant, Wesley Whisenant, Cody Epley, Cassie Epley, Chelsey Whisenant, Courtney Whisenant, and Tyler Whisenant; great-grandchild, Tyler Epley; and siblings, Ruby McCall, Annie Mae Owens, Winfred Whisenant, and Mary Childers.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
