Blaine A. Causby

Blaine A. Causby, 69, of Ashford St., Morganton, NC died Thursday, March 16, 2006 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born November 9, 1936 in Burke County, NC, and was a son of the late Array Ashford Causby and Louise Pollard Causby. Blaine was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church, Glen Alpine. He was a former employee of Great Lakes Carbon Corporation, and an avid gardener. Blaine was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy Penley Causby of the home; sons, Dennis A. Causby and friend, Betty Nelson, Rodney Causby and friend, Lisa Morgan, all of Morganton; a daughter, Anna C. Hurdle and husband, Dan of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Pete Hurdle, Blaine Hurdle, Chad Causby, and Catherine Causby; brothers, Larry Causby and Jerry Causby, both of Morganton; a sister, Mary Pauline Collier of Chattanooga, TN; and his faithful canine companion, Blackie.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the First Baptist Church, Glen Alpine with Rev. Michael Brown and Rev. Dr. Marvin Gobble officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3:00 until 4:00 pm at the church.
