Blanche H. Crump

Blanche H. Crump, 81, of Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2014. Born in Catawba County, NC on September 19, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John Ralph Holton and Grace Warlick Holton. Blanche was a member of Morganton First Church of God. She was a retired employee of Grace Hospital and loved quilting, collecting tea pots and antiques and cooking with the church.Blanche is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ray Crump of the home; sons, Robert Crump and wife, Becky, Ronnie Crump and wife, Janet all of Morganton; grandson, Casey Crump; brother, John Holton and wife, Karen of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Mary Louise McCorkle and husband, Jerry of Valdese; and her loving caregiver, Cheryl Stilley. Without Cheryl, Mom could have not stayed in her home.Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2014 at Burke Memorial Park with Reverends Don Smith and Jon McDevitt officiating.Memorial contributions may be made to Morganton First Church of God, 675 Summers Rd., Morganton, NC 28655 or to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with arrangements.
