Bly Manuel Lovelace, Jr.

Bly Manuel Lovelace, Jr., 70, of Morganton died Wednesday, May 15, 2019.  Born in Burke County, NC on June 24, 1948, he was the son of the late Bly Manuel Lovelace and Rebecca Leilani Weeks Lovelace.  Bly was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.  He enjoyed fishing and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bly is survived by his children, Angela Hallman (Eddie), Beverly Hardin (Scott), and Christina Lovelace (John Grayson); grandchildren, Ashley Painter, Joshua Hallman (Michelle), Brandon Hallman, Tyler Lovelace (fiancée, Cynthia Thao), Scott Hardin, Jr., Jacob Hardin, Billy Hardin, and Brianna Hardin; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenny Lovelace; sisters, Sparky Davidson (Glen), Molinda Karpman (Harold), Beth Cooper (Tommy), and Polly Mayo (Ralph); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bly was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Alexander Lovelace; granddaughter, Heather Hallman; brothers, Lammie Yates and Clifford Lovelace; and sister, Hazel Howell.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the NC National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
