Bobby "Bob" Smith

Bobby "Bob" Smith, 58, of Morganton, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at his residence following a brief battle with cancer. Born in Catawba County, NC on July 30, 1952, he was the son of the late Charlie Lee Smith and Sarah Aileen Canipe Smith. Bob attended New Beginnings Baptist Church and drove for Four Truckers. He loved gardening and woodcrafts.Bob is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Ferguson Smith of the home; children, Ronnie L. Smith and wife, April, of Vale, NC, Rebecca Crowder and husband, Dewayne, Victoria Smith and husband, Chad, and Rocky Ferguson, Jr of Morganton. and wife, Jodi; a brother, Kenneth Smith and wife, Kim, of Hickory, NC; sisters, Dot Bridges and husband, Steve, Sandra Leatherman and husband, Dennis, and Sue Smith, all of Vale; and ten grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at New Beginnings Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Deviney officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until noon. The family will also receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church in Vale. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
