Bobby Earl Fendley, 68, received complete healing on March 22, 2022. He was born and raised in Thomasville, AL but relocated to Morganton, NC to be with his daughter and grandchildren following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Bob was a truck driver and mechanic during his working years and was extremely proud of his abilities in both areas. He enjoyed racing, Alabama football, and Ice Road Trucker. His final year of life was spent enjoying precious time with his daughter and grandchildren.
He was the son of the late William Earl Fendley and Rubye Lee McIntyre. His biological father was FB Juston Gates.
Mr. Fendley is survived by one brother, Randy Fendley; three daughters, Kerry Bender of Woodstock, GA, Mandi Fendley of Weaverville, NC, and Nikki Elkins of Morganton, NC; five grandchildren, Harley Fendley, Cheyenne McKinney, and Jaxon Dill (Weaverville, NC), Saren Elkins and Madilyn-Kate Elkins (Morganton, NC). Also surviving are Bob’s special cousin, Bobby Morgan, and friend, Tammera Anderson as well as numerous extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by, his grandparents, Jehue “Jake” McIntyre, and Mattie Lee Goodman McIntyre.
A graveside service will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Chilton, AL and will be announced later.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
