Bobby Hugh Chapman

Bobby Hugh Chapman, 64, of Pea Ridge Road, Morganton, NC died at his home. Born in Burke County, NC on July 29, 1946, he was the son of the late Earsel Hughes Chapman and Bertie Lou Williams Chapman. Bobby was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and had a love for animals, especially his dogs.Bobby is survived by his sisters, Sybil Chapman Dover of Kings Mountain, NC, Faye Chapman Pyatte of Morganton, and Kathy Chapman and husband, Ken, of Morganton; his companion, Judy Taylor of Morganton; and numerous nephews and nieces.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2011 at Burkemont Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David Mills and Rev. Darvy Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
