Boyd Kenneth "B.K." Lail, Jr., 78, of Hickory, NC died Saturday, February 08, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on October 18, 1935, he was the son of the late Boyd Kenneth Lail, Sr. and Nellie Marie Bailey Lail. B.K. was a faithful, charter member of Crossroads Baptist Church of Hickory and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years of service.Mr. Lail is survived by his wife, Sylvia Elaine Karriker Lail of the home; sons, Jeffery S. Lail and his wife, Pamela, of Hickory and Darrin K. Lail and his wife, Lisa, of Hildebran; grandchildren, A.J. Lail, Avery Lail, Ayden Lail, Adley Lail, Monica Dillingham, and Jamie Childress; great-granddaughters, Casey Dillingham and Arbor Childress; and a sister, Mildred Setzer.In addition to his parents, B.K. was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Pope and Grace D. Lail.The funeral will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Rev. Chris Huffman and Dr. Randy Setzer officiating. Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
