"Buffy" Hurt Brown

"Buffy" Hurt Brown, 47, of Morganton, NC died Thursday, March 6, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on May 27, 1966, she was the daughter of Marsha Anderson of Morganton and the late J.A. Hurt, Jr. Among her many talents, Buffy was very artistic.In addition to her mother, Buffy is survived by her sister, Laura Hurt of Morganton; her step-mother, Carol Claywell Hurt of Valdese, NC; aunts, Mary Anderson and Eller Mae Simmons, both of Morganton, Dorothy Grady of Monroe, GA, and Jean Lane of Arden, NC; numerous cousins; and a loving canine companion, Peanut.In addition to her father, Buffy was preceded in death by an aunt, Irene Sides.Family and friends will gather from 4-6pm, Monday, March 10, 2014 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
