Bulo E. Burgin

Bulo E. Burgin, 84, of Dugout Circle in Morganton died Monday, March 16, 2009 at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born June 7, 1924 in McDowell County, and was a son of the late Romey Roy Burgin and Nettie Pritchard Burgin. Bulo was a devoted member of Hartland Missionary Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved his boats and his garden, and enjoyed building anything out of wood.Bulo is survived by his wife, Gladys Rudell Norman Burgin of the home; sons, Kenneth Burgin and wife, Frances, Steve Walker and wife Donna, and Jeff Walker, all of Morganton, Bill Burgin of Georgia, and Ronald Walker and wife, Carol of Supply, NC; daughters, Belinda Deloatch of Morganton and Hilda Walker of Canton, NC; a brother, Waits Burgin and wife, Ruby of Maryland; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Bulo was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Blake Burgin; a son, Jerry Burgin; brothers, Virgil, Ted, and Cleo Burgin; a sister, Matriss Robertson; and a granddaughter, Debra Lynn Edwards.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Hartland Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Carr officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
