Carl B. "Pedro" Hunt

Carl B. "Pedro" Hunt, 82, died Sunday, October 11, 2009, following a period of declining health. He was born in Rutherford County on August 24, 1927 and was a son of the late Lee and Finer McCurry Hunt. Mr. Hunt was a U. S. Navy veteran and a retired employee of Morganton Dyeing and Finishing. Pedro dedicated his life to the Lord a few years ago.Surviving are his wife, Edna Yount Hunt, of the home; his sons, David Hunt and his wife, Sherry, Don Hunt and his wife, Paula, Bobby Hunt and his wife, Teresa, and Tony Hunt all of Morganton; brothers, Ted, Jerry, Larry, and Joe Hunt, all of Golden Valley; sisters, Carolyn Lytle of Marion, Nell Hicks of Morganton, and Betty Sue Varnell of Greenville, NC; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Pedro was preceded in death by a brother, L. C. Hunt, and by a sister, Blanche Causby.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at Golden Valley United Methodist Church in Bostic with Rev. Dr. Dewey Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes before the funeral.
