Carl H. Wall

Carl H. Wall, Jr., 72, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, October 07, 2008, at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born in Burke County on November 25, 1935 and was the son of the late Carl Herman Wall, Sr. and Rama Dale Wall. A 1958 graduate of N. C. State University where he was active in the Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Mr. Wall owned and operated Wall Lumber Company and was owner of Jamestown Flea Market. A lover of horses and an avid golfer, Carl was also part owner of Quaker Meadows Golf Course. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Grandfather Golf and Country Club.Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Linda Smith Wall of the home; his son, Edward Wall of Morganton, and his daughter, Jenner Wall of Charlotte.The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 9, 2008, at First Presbyterian Church Parlor. Private inurnment services will be held with Reverends Michael Bailey and Bob Shepherd officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Exploring Joara Foundation, Inc., PO Box 9000, Asheville, NC 28815 or to the WPCC Foundation, Inc., 1001 Burkemont Ave., Morganton, NC 28655.
