Carl Junior McMahan

Carl Junior McMahan, 69, of Curtis St. in Morganton went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 23, 2012. Born January 23, 1943 in Yancey County, NC, he was a son of the late Wilk McMahan and Annie May Styles McMahan. Carl was raised in the Baptist faith. He worked for several construction companies, and also as a truck driver for Burke Grading and Paving, and Lowman Grading.Carl is survived by daughters, Carol Ann Crump and husband, Rick, of Morganton, and Betty Jean Bivens and husband, Raymond, of Vale; sisters Bessie White of Marion, Evelyn Dalton of Forest City, Ruth Epley of Newton, and Mary "Sally" Phillips and Lettie Hoglen, both of Morganton; brothers, Charlie McMahan of Marion and Wayne McMahan of Morganton; and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd McMahan; and three infant siblings.A Celebration of Carl’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev.
