Carl Ray Boone

Carl Ray Boone, 60, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, June 15, 2014. Born in Durham, NC on June 22, 1953, he was the son of Lois Emmajean Sheehan Boone of Morganton and the late William Ray Boone. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved animals and children of all ages. Carl never met a stranger.

Mr. Boone is survived by his wife of 19 years, Kathy Boone of the home; brothers, Clyde Boone and his wife, Jan, of Nebo, NC and William "Booter" Boone and his wife, Doris, of Glen Alpine, NC; a sister, Becky Norman and her husband, Mike, of Morganton; and a number of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

In addition to his father, Carl was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Jean Boone, Laure Irene Boone, and Nancy Christine Powell.

The graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Bible Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Fuller and Chaplain Ron Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. At other times the family will be at the residence of the sister, Becky Norman, 2900 Windy Hill Hollow, Morganton.
