Committal
Carlos “Chigger” Chapman, 74, of Nebo, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
Born in Burke County, NC on August 7, 1947, he was the son of the late Dewey Sandford Chapman and Mary Louise Bradshaw Chapman. Chigger was a member of Rainhill Wesleyan Church. He worked in a NASCAR Pit Crew and retired from Drexel Heritage.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Chigger is survived by his wife of 13 years, Janell Marlow Chapman; son, Kasey Chapman (Kimberly); grandchildren, Jackson and Jace Chapman; step-son, Jimmy Miller (Melinda); step-grandchildren, Amoura Rose Miller; and his beloved dog, Crickett.
In addition to his parents, Chigger was preceded in death by a son, William Carlos Chapman; and grandson, Ryan Chapman.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Rainhill Wesleyan Church. The memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. in the church with Rev. Lou Gardner officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
