Carol "Jean" Williams

Carol "Jean" Williams, age 59, of Morganton, NC passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 1, 2013 after a lengthy illness. She was born on January 24, 1954, and she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Eva Swink Carswell.She is survived by her husband, Richard Williams of the home; a daughter, Ashley Deal and her husband, Jason, of Glen Alpine; sisters, Annette Robinson and her husband, Roger, of Valdese, NC, and Donna Carswell of Drexel, NC; a nephew, Eric Robinson of Valdese; her mother-in-law, Elsbeth Walker of Raleigh, NC; and a sister-in-law, Monika Turner and her husband, Richard, also of Raleigh, and their children, Laura, Sara, and William Turner. She also leaves behind her faithful Canine companion, Burke.Jean received a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Gardner-Webb University and thoroughly enjoyed her career in the medical field, beginning with her job with the now retired pediatrician Dr. Jarrah and continuing the past 19 years working in Dr. Holler’s office. Jean’s caring and sweet way with others made her a natural in the medical field. She made many special friendships during these years.A Celebration of Jean’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Larry Cronk officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the memorial service.
