Carol McPeters

Carol McPeters, 71, of Morganton, NC went to be with the Lord and his loved ones on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Born in Yancey County, NC on June 20, 1942, he was the son of Mafhrie Jane Ledford McPeters of Morganton and the late James Francis McPeters. Carol attended Mull’s Grove Baptist Church. He retired after 29+ years from the bus garage of the Burke County School System. Carol loved to raise cattle and farm.A loving and devoted father who was the rock of the family, Carol is also survived by his wife of 51 years, Nadine Banner McPeters of the home; daughters, Amy McPeters Pennington and her husband, Harold, Angela McPeters Waters and her husband, Tim, and Carolyn McPeters Nogales and her husband, Victor, all of Morganton; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Charlie "Danny" McPeters and his wife, Pat, of Morganton; and sisters, Ortez Johnson and her husband, Larry, Joyce Suttles and her husband, Ken, and Linda Ershadi, all of Morganton.The funeral will be held 2pm, Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Mull’s Grove Baptist Church with the Reverends Bud Jernigan and Mark Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on the evening of Friday, January 17, 2014 from 6-8pm at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral.Memorial contributions may be made to Mull’s Grove Baptist Church, 5106 Burkemont Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
