Carolyn Denney Benfield

Carolyn Denney Benfield, 89, of Morganton passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021.  Born in Catawba County, NC on April 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Uriel “Bud” Denney and Minnie Causby Denney.  Carolyn was a retired registered nurse and a member of First Baptist Church of Glen Alpine.

Mrs. Benfield is survived by her children, Keith Benfield (Thressia), Susie Benfield, Pete Benfield, and David Benfield, (Brenda); grandchildren, Maureen Wiseley, Emily Keenan, Jessica Bailey, Mark Smith, Jonathan Benfield, Amanda Reynolds, and Brandi Anthony; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Jewel Saulman Toney (Roger).

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil L. Benfield, Sr.; brothers, Ed, David, and Tom; and sister, Nancy.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2021 at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. John Terry officiating.
