Carrie Brackett Price

Carrie Brackett Price, 94, of Conley Rd., Morganton, NC died Monday, May 1, 2006 at Valdese General Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born May 30, 1911 in Rutherford County, NC, and was a daughter of the late Abraham Lincoln Brackett and Nancy Rebecca McFarland Brackett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James Marshall Price; and a number of brothers and sisters. Carrie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She graduated in 1931 from Hollis High School in Rutherford County. Carrie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Allen Lewis and Lori Ann Price of Etowah, NC; a daughter, Margaret Setzer Nelson of Valdese, NC; grandchildren, Monty Setzer and wife, Daniell, and Beth Morgan and husband, Jeremy; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful pet, Kitty.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, May 3, 2006 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Reverends Larry Thompson, Darvy Hensley, and Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
