Carrie Ida Mull, 86, of Enola Road, Morganton, NC went to be with Jesus on the morning of Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Grace Hospital after an extended period of illness. She was the daughter of the late Lenoir and Maggie Shuping Mull.Carrie was a faithful member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church until a decline in health prevented her from attending any longer in 2007.

Ms. Mull is survived by a daughter, Joyce Carswell and her husband, Cecil; a granddaughter, Michelle Nanney; great-grandchildren, Chris Nanney, Jeremy Ledford, Jessica Hallyburton, Erica Hallyburton, and Josh Walton; great-great-grandchildren, Kaylie and Katelyn Nanney; a niece, Judy Smith and her husband, Larry; and a granddaughter-in-law, Crystal Hallyburton.In addition to her parents, Carrie was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Hallyburton; sisters, Mildred Smith, Edna Brittain, and Helen Chapman; and a brother, Ned "Toby" Mull.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Cross Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverends Jeff Beach and Clyde Buckner officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Cross Memorial Baptist Church Food Fund, 650 Enola Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
