Catherine Jean Wilson Burns

Catherine Jean Wilson Burns, 65, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Burke County on March 1, 1942 and was a daughter of the late Robey and Maybell Denton Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Perry Mull.A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Angela Burns and Keith Watson and Mark Anthony and Angela Burns, of Morganton; brothers and their wives, Robey and Linda Wilson of Morganton and Leonard and Betty Wilson of Valdese; sister, Ruby W. Lail and her husband, Melvin, of Valdese and Mary W. Mull of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren, Chris Pritchard and his wife, Crystal, Michael Pritchard, Lauren Burns, and Kendall Burns; and step-grandchildren, Josh and Matt Bradshaw.The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2008, in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Reverends Darvy Hensley, Alan Wilson, and Richard Ellington officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. Saturday. At other times the family will be at the home of Angela and Keith Watson, 116 Shuping St., Morganton.
