Catherine Marie Ensley Moody

Catherine Marie Ensley Moody, 79, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, June 12, 2018.  Born in Haywood County, NC on February 2, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Frank Ensley and Isadore Holden Ensley.  Known as “Granny G,” she loved to fish, sew, and make quilts.  She loved God, never met a stranger, and would help anyone in need.  She was a mother-figure to all who knew her.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Catherine is survived by her son, Frank Lee Moody and wife, Mary; daughters, Crystal Greene and husband, Sherrill, Betty Bueno and husband, Pelo, and Renee Dawn Moody and fiancé, Michael ; grandchildren, Christy Hernandez, Timothy Presnell, Billy Presnell, Diana Presnell, Richard Hallyburton, Phillip Bueno, Allan Maynor, Frank Moody, Jr., Clay Moody, D J Woodard, MaKenzie Buchanan, and Destiny Gouge; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, and 2 sisters.

In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ira Lee Moody; daughter, Katherine “Susie” Presnell; 3 grandchildren, Karen Mauney, Chelsea Buchanan, and Kelly Marie Presnell; a brother; and a sister.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Dean Presnell officiating.  Burial will follow in Buck Hill Cemetery in Little Buck Hill. At other times the family will be at Crystal Green's residence.
