Catherine McNeely Duckworth

Catherine McNeely Duckworth, 72, of Morganton, NC, died Wednesday, July 5, 2017. She was born on January 27, 1945 in Cleveland County to the late Joseph Fred McNeely and Lula Ileese Mason McNeely. She was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church. Catherine was a loving, caring person who loved her family, especially her grandkids. She also loved to cook and camp and her canine companion, Buddy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Duckworth and a sister, Mozelle Whisnant.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam Helms and husband, Lee and Sandie Rayburn and her husband, Lee; grandchildren, Cody Rayburn, April Helms and Robert Helms; brother, Bobby Joe McNeely; sister, Janice Rudisill and her husband, Bobby.
The family will receive friends from 3:00pm until 4:30pm, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The service will follow in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home at 4:30pm with the Rev. Heather Kilbourne and Rev. Elaine Hall officiating. The family will be at Oak Forest Drive, Morganton, on Friday from 3:00pm-8:00pm and also following the service on Saturday.
