Cathy Crawley Clark

Cathy Crawley Clark, 58, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her family following a nine year battle with cancer. She was born in Burke County on June 25, 1952 and was a daughter of William and Oma Carswell Crawley of Morganton. Cathy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Her kindness and generosity were evident to all who knew her. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and attended Nowlings Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Johnny Clark, of Morganton; daughters, Stacey Fisher Coffey and her husband, Derrick, of Hickory and Brandi Fisher Clark and her husband, Eric of Morganton. She also leaves her beloved granddaughters, Reid Katherine and Shelbi Caroline Coffey; her sisters, Christine Bolin and her husband, Mike, of Shelby, Wanda McGuire, and Tammy Lane and her husband, Gary, all of Morganton; and a number of nieces and nephews.Cathy was preceded in death by a sister, Gilda Shell.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Darvy Hensley and Rev. Jesse Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes before the funeral hour.
