Charlene Barber Hicks

Charlene Barber Hicks, 82, of River Hills Way, Morganton, NC died Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born Dec. 6, 1924 in Burke County, and was a daughter of the late Ernest and Gertie Berry Barber.Charlene is survived by a brother, Gary Barber of Warren Robins, GA; and a sister, Criscelda Osborne of Charlotte, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford Hicks; a daughter, Arlene Barber Higgins; and a sister, Hilda Hoppes.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Drexel Memorial Park with Rick Osborne officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of personal choice. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
