Charlene Ramsey

Charlene Ramsey, 85, of Morganton, NC passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in the Golden Pond Community in Winter Garden, FL.  Born in Cleveland County, NC on July 13, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Clarence D. Parker and Minnie McNeilly Parker.  Charlene was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church and was a member of the senior adult women’s Sunday school class.  Charlene worked at Shadowline and enjoyed gardening and sewing.  In her younger years, she loved to play golf and basketball.

Charlene is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Ramsey; grandchildren, Jenny and Daniel Longacre; and brothers, Harold and Charles Parker.

In addition to her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph W. Ramsey; and sisters, Jean Haynes, Hilda Hastings, and Lizzie Warlick.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Mt. Home Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating.  Charlene will be buried in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
