Charles Daniel “Danny” Wright

Charles Daniel “Danny” Wright, 70, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, July 23, 2017.  Born in Cleveland County, NC on October 29, 1946, he was the son of the late William Lloyd Wright and Taltha Estelle Yount Wright.  Danny was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and retired from Broughton Hospital after 43 years of service.  He loved antique cars, reading, and family gatherings.

Danny is survived by his wife, Dorothea “Dot” Boone Wright of the home; step-son, Steve Boone of Morganton; brother, Steve Wright of Morganton; nephews and nieces, Alan Wright, Austin Wright, Ron Richards, Pam Chapman, and Kale Wright; great-nephews and nieces, Meredith Hamlin, Matt Richards, Millie Lacy, and Brittany, Grace, Matthew, and Will Wright; 3 great-great-nephews and nieces; and an aunt, Kathryn Goodman.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a step-son, Darrell Boone; brother, Gettys Aaron Wright; and nephew, Wesley Russ.

The family will receive friends from 11am to 12pm, Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will be held at noon in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Kale Wright officiating.  The graveside service will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston, NC.
