Charles Dariel Gragg

Charles Dariel Gragg, 72, of Morganton, NC died Monday, October 8, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC following a short period of declining health. Born April 15, 1940 in Avery County, NC, he was a son of the late Earl and Gay Gragg. Charles was a member of Sunrise Independent Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.A loving father and grandfather, Charles is survived by a son, Randy D. Gragg and wife, Denise, of Morganton; a grandson, Justin Gragg of Morganton; brother, Darwin Gragg of Morganton; sisters, Betty Higgins of Morganton and Connie Lewis of Hudson; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Estelle Alexander of Morganton.In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by siblings, Larry Dale Gragg and Maloy Gates.Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Sunrise Independent Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Price officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. At other times, the family will be at the home of Estelle Alexander, Don Johnson Rd., Morganton, NC 28655. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
