Charles Edward “Baby Snal” Harbison

Charles Edward “Baby Snal” Harbison, 69, of Morganton, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, February 20, 2022.  Born in Burke County, NC on March 24, 1952, he was the son of the late August Harbison, Jr. and Sarah Elizabeth Grimes Harbison.  Charles was a member of St. Stevens Lutheran Church.  He worked as a truck driver for Rudisill Logistics Company and also worked at Hardwoods of Morganton.  He enjoyed watching the Las Vegas Raiders and the Atlanta Braves.  Charles loved to hunt and play the drums.

Mr. Harbison is survived by his sons, August O’Neil and Charles O’Neil (Tina); grandchildren, Anthony O’Neil, Aleijah O’Neil, Kaneisha O’Neil, Gabriel O’Neil, Amber Gardner, Jahmya Grooms and Nevaeh Grooms; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Twinkle Clark and Carolyn “Snap” Harbison; and his girlfriend, Dawnna Anderson.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Steven “Bull” Harbison and Robert L. Harbison.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Revs. Eddie Johnson, Jr. and William Harbison officiating.  Burial will follow in Olive Hill Cemetery.
