Charles Edward Bristol, 96 of Morganton passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Born September 22, 1921 in Burke County, North Carolina he was a son of the late Mark Bristol and Cordie Sudderth Bristol.
Mr. Bristol was a member of Hartland Church of God. He was a lover of “Blues” music and a great guitar player.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Olivia Kincaid Bristol; son, Paul Edward Bristol; daughter, Susie O. Harper; brothers, Berts and Lloyd Bristol; sisters Ernistine Bristol, Almer Fox, Pauline Stewart, Margaret Corpening, and Mildred Bristol; and granddaughter, Jennifer O’Banner.
Mr. Bristol is survived by children, Pauline Jackie Bristol Crawley of LaGrange, Georgia and Charles Eugene Bristol and wife, Dessiree of Morganton; grandchildren, Mark Bristol, Laura McDonald, Katryna Williams, Regina West, Rev. Duawn Harper, Sr., Rhonda Nicholson, Paul Anthony Bristol, Zandra Bristol, and Starla Bristol; sister, Georgia M. Bristol; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Hartland Church of God. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in the church with Rev. Mitchel Brittain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
