Charles Edward Graham

Charles Edward Graham, 96, of Glen Alpine, NC died Thursday, July 14, 2016.  Born in Rutherford County, NC on March 22, 1920, he was the son of the late Arthur Barnett Graham and Sudie Belle McCarthy Graham.  Charles was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church.  He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of the Pacific Theater of WWII and retired from Breeden Poultry with 32 years of service.

Mr. Graham is survived by his brothers, James Edgar “Jim” Graham and his wife, Patricia, of Oxford, NC; a sister, Martha G. Brill and her husband, Arthur, of Sebastian, FL; a number of nephews and nieces; and a sister-in-law, Louise Schell of Conover, NC.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Arthur Graham and John Harry Graham.

A graveside service will be held at 3pm, Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Glen Alpine Cemetery with the Rev. Barbara Mayo officiating.  The family will greet friends in the fellowship hall of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glen Alpine United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 576, Glen Alpine, NC 28628 or to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.
