Charles Richard Yount, Jr., 50, of Hickory passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021. Born in Catawba County, NC on May 31, 1971, he was the son of Charles Richard “Rick” Yount and his wife, Ella, and the late Mitzi Denise Nix.
Charles loved his family and enjoyed music, collecting records, hunting, fishing, and riding four-wheelers.
In addition to his father and step-mother, Charles is survived by his wife, Rhonda Yount; son, Joshua Yount; daughter, Amber Edwards (Jamarcus); close-friend, Kathy Yount; step-children, Steve Bailey (Beth), Melinda Moore, Kimberly Chambers (Matthew), Kelly “K.G.” Eller, and Aaron Eller; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nathan, Nick, Keisha, Alex, Krysta, Jacob (Ashley), Steve, Saylor, Alexis, and Ethan; brother, Shane Yount (Tiffany), sister, Glennie Nix; step-brother, Bill Pressley; and step-sister, Karen Dunkley.
In addition to his mother, Charles was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harvey and Henrietta Yount; and maternal grandparents, Reeves Pennington and Tracy Houston.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2021 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Harmon officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
