Charles Rickey Crowe, Sr., 53, of Emney Ave., Morganton, NC died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Grace Hospital. Born in Wyandotte, MI on March 26, 1957, he was the son of the late Charles Crowe and Carolyn Ann Fender Crowe. Rickey attended Poarch’s Chapel Missionary Methodist Church. He worked for R & R Railroad in Michigan until he moved to NC in 1999, when he started working for E. J. Victor until his death.Rickey is survived by his sons, Charles R. Crowe, Jr. of Detroit, MI, Christopher L. Crowe of Flat Rock, MI, and Adam S. Crowe of Pinckney, MI; a daughter, Carolyn J. Crowe of New Boston, MI; a step-daughter, Kristina L. Ulatowski of Holiday, FL; grandchildren, Tyler and Alex McAllister; his companion, Elaine Crowe of the home; brothers, Garry D. Crowe, Bill Daugherty, and Mike Daugherty; and a step-mother, Betty Crowe.In addition to his parents, Rickey was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy and Leon Daugherty, and a sister, Sheila Newbrey.The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m., noon, Saturday, October 16, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
