Charles Spivey Sossoman

Charles Spivey Sossoman, 74, of Morganton passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019.  Born in Mecklenburg County, NC on November 27, 1944, he was the son of the late J.C. Sossoman, Jr. and Smaro Lee Black Sossoman.  Charles was a 1963 graduate of Morganton High School and a veteran of the US Army.

Charles is survived by a brother, J. Calvin Sossoman (Angela) of Morganton; sister, Madelyn Sossoman Phillips (Fred) of Greensboro; nephews and nieces, Mark A. Sossoman (Rachel), Kathleen Sossoman Link (Edwin), Caroline Phillips Trotter (Michael), and Eric Phillips (Kelly); grandnephews and nieces, Brendan, Conner, and Ian Sossoman, Elizabeth and Patrick Link, Elise and Skyler Sawyer, and Garrett Phillips; a beloved aunt, Mary Ann Black; and numerous cousins.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to all of Charles’ caregivers and especially to Christina Stogner.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Friday Friends Restaurant, 315 Sanford Dr., Morganton.

Memorial gifts may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care.
